Over 65 billion VND raised for charitable activities
Between January and June, Da Nang’s social and career related organisations raised 65.5 billion VND for local charitable activities. In addition, they became actively involved in various meaningful activities in the city.
The city’s Young Entrepreneurs Association locally helped over 5,000 people find jobs, and donated 744 million VND to the poor and the disabled. The local Lawyers Association was actively involved in contributing their opinions to legal documents, as well as providing free legal assistance for 120 poor people and social policy beneficiaries.
A book entitled “10 Years of the Development of Da Nang through the Cultural Lens” was published by the city’s Union of Literature and Art Associations. As many as 940 scholarships, worth 2.05 billion VND, were given to local studious poor students by the Study Encouragement Association.
The Association for Supporting Poor and Disadvantaged Women and Children provided medical examinations and treatment for 16,882 people. In addition, 3,651 people accessed cancer and congenital heart disease screening programmes.
