Currently, the section of beach from Nguyen Sinh Sac Street to the Phu Loc Bridge are being seriously affected by the stench of untreated waste water.

There are 3 drainage and sewage outfalls along this section, and a large volume of untreated waste water is discharged through these outfalls onto the beaches, especially on sunny or rainy days.  This seems to be the main  cause of the current sickening stench in this area.

The new wastewater collection system along Nguyen Tat Thanh Street is still under construction

A new wastewater collection system running along Nguyen Tat Thanh Street to the Phu Loc wastewater treatment plant is still under construction.  It is part of the city’s priority infrastructure project which belongs to the B.15a package.  The construction work started in July 2011, and it was expected to be put into operation before 30 June 2013 but the work is behind schedule.
