Gifts for poor pupils
Numerous activities have been organised in Da Nang recently to help local very poor pupils as they start their new school year.
The Viet Nam Prudential Assurance Company and Cam Le District’s Study Encouragement Association have presented gifts totalling 12.5 million VND to 30 very poor pupils in the district. Each gift consisted of a schoolbag, notebooks and learning tools.
The Youth Union Organisation of Da Nang Newspapers coordinated with the Lien Chieu District Education and Training Office to give 100 sets of textbooks, worth about 10 million VND in total, to Year 5 pupils at the city’s Hai Van and Hong Quang primary schools.

Hai Chau District’s Tran Van On Primary School has given gifts, including clothes, school bags, textbooks and notebooks, to 30 of its pupils who are living in difficult circumstances. The gifts were funded by donations from the school’s teachers, pupils and employees, and local generous donors.
Hoa Khanh Nam Ward’s Study Encouragement Association is appealing for donations from local organisations and businesses to help local poor pupils.
The Japan-Viet Nam Friendship Association of Kawasaki City donated 200 bicycles, at a total cost of 400 million VND, to needy students in Hoa Vang District.
