On Thursday, Da Nang’s traffic police and inspectors, along with local relevant agencies, began a campaign across the city to deal with traffic violations.  They imposed strict penalties on any traffic violations in combination with publicising the road traffic laws to local residents.

The patrol team of the city’s Traffic Police Department handled 45 cases of going into the wrong lanes, whilst the police in Lien Chieu, Ngu Hanh Son, Son Tra, Hoa Vang, Cam Le and Hai Chau districts dealt with up to 25 cases each.

Traffic police deal with a violation

On the eastern side of the Dragon (Rong) Bridge, Son Tra District’s police dealt with 15 traffic violations in one 15 minute period, and 12 of the violators were from Quang Nam Province.

In other localities, apart from dealing with violations, the police encouraged local residents to strictly comply with road traffic rules in order to reduce the number of road traffic accidents.
