Low-interest loans suggested for developers of rental housing for workers
During his meeting on Thursday with representatives of the city’s branches of the Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Sacombank) and the Viet Nam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank), the Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman, Mr Vo Duy Khuong, asked them to offer low interest loans to developers of local rental housing for workers.
To date, there are over 65,000 workers at the city’s industrial parks, and more than 43,000 of them are currently in need of housing. Meanwhile, the number of such properties in the city is lower than the demand for them.

Cam Le District, one of the city’s districts with a high number of workers, is a typical example. There are only 2,100 rental rooms in the district, provided by 405 local families, and as a result many workers have to share a room, which does not ensure safety, hygiene and security in their accommodation.
In an attempt to solve this problem, the city’s authorities have issued support policies for the development of housing for workers. Accordingly, local families should now find it easier to access loans worth more than 50 million VND to develop houses for rent.
The Deputy Director of the Lien Chieu District branch of Agribank, Mr Le Quang Vinh, said that his branch has so far received 213 applications for loans in the wards of Hoa Khanh Bac, Hoa Khanh Nam and Hoa Hiep Bac.
The Director of Sacombank’s Da Nang Branch, Mr Nguyen Hong Thanh, said that the application procedure at his branch is short and simple, and that borrowers can get loans within 2 days of their application if they have provided the required documents.
