On Friday, the Da Nang Steering Committee for Anti-Smuggling, Counterfeit Goods and Trade Fraud reviewed its performance over the past 6 months, and identified their key tasks for the remaining months of the year.

During the review period, the Customs Department, the Police, the Market Management Bureau, and the border guards in the city, plus local relevant agencies, handled nearly 3,700 trading violations.  They imposed fines and collected arrears totalling around 70 billion VND for smuggling and trading fraud, selling counterfeit and prohibited goods, breaking tax regulations, and other violations.

In particular, trading counterfeit and poor quality products, along with intellectual property violations, rose by 58% year-on-year, and tax violations saw a 20% year-on-year increase.
