Restoring order on Ton Duc Thang Street
Along a stretch of Ton Duc Thang Street, from the Hue-T-junction to the city’s coach station, there are so many street vendors that traffic safety problems are being created every day. This chaotic situation occurs especially in the early morning and late afternoon rush hours due to the heavy traffic on this street at those times. This makes the area unpleasant for both road users and residents living nearby.
This problem has so far not been solved effectively because the street forms the admistrative boundary between Cam Le and Lien Chieu districts.
Many advertisement boards block the pavements |
The Deputy Head of the Urban Rules team of Cam Le District, Mr Phan Ngu Qua, has suggested that the relevant agencies in the 2 districts should work closely together to take effective measures and thoroughly deal with the encroachment by vendors onto the street’s pavements.
