Previously, Hung who weighed 4kg had been diagnosed with patent ductus arteriosus, the most common congenital heart complaint, and he was under prolonged ventilation at the city’s Maternity and Paediatrics Hospital.

The Hospital’s Director, Dr Tran Ngoc Thanh, said that the operation was successful mainly thanks to the advanced digital subtraction angiography (DSA) machine and the hospital’s skilful and dedicated doctors.  He added that the hospital’s doctors save the lives of up to 5 patients with cardiac diseases every day.
