The Da Nang Fatherland Front Committee and the local Mobilising Board for “the Day for the Poor” are appealing for local government officials and employees, military officers and men, businesspeople, and generous donors to donate at least one day's salary each to raise funds for local poor people.  The purpose is to mark the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty (17 October) and to respond to the Peak Month for the Poor 2013.

The donations will go towards helping poor people, and the victims of the recent storm, to overcome their difficulties.  This will also help the city to fulfil its target of ensuring social welfare and poverty reduction in the 2012 - 2017 period, as well as strengthening national solidarity.
