Director of Urban Environment Company criticised
The Da Nang People’s Committee Chairman, Mr Van Huu Chien, recently signed a decision to criticise the Director of the city’s Urban Environment Company for his lack of responsibility in dealing with rubbish on local beaches.
Over recent days, there has been only a small number of the company’s workers collecting rubbish from the local beaches, and they have only been using very simple cleaning tools.
During an environmental sanitation inspection last Friday, inspectors found a large quantity of debris and fallen trees, caused by the recent heavy rainfall, on the My Khe and T20 beaches, at the SPS3 and SPS4 discharge stations, and in other areas. This has created a negative effect on the marine tourism image of the city. The cause was mainly a lack of responsibility by the company’s leaders, along with delays in their implementation of environmental hygiene work.
