The prolonged heavy rains during Storm No 10 caused severe flooding in the northern central region provinces from Thua Thien Hue to Thanh Hoa.  Dozens of deaths, hundreds of injuries, and thousands of damaged houses have been reported in the affected provinces.  The total damage is estimated at over 11 trillion VND.  Many people are now homeless and they are suffering from the lack of food, drinking water, clothes and shelter, whilst their children are without books and notebooks.

The Central Region Natural Disaster Mitigation Support Fund is organising many relief activities and distributing food, clothes, medicines, books and notebooks to the victims.  The fund is appealing for donations from domestic and overseas organisations, businesses, and individuals to help victims to overcome the consequences of the storm and flooding.

Donations can be given to the Central Region Natural Disaster Mitigation Support Fund at 25 Nguyen Du Street.  Cash can also be sent directly to the Da Nang branch of the Bank for Investment and Development of Viet Nam using account number 56010000123389. 

Donations will be used to buy food, books and notebooks for those who are living in the affected areas.
