Local businesses actively involved in charitable work
In addition to making significant contributions to Da Nang’s progress, in recent years businesses in the city have been actively involved in ensuring social welfare by helping poor and disadvantaged people.
They believe that charitable efforts are a good way of fulfilling their responsibilities to the local community, and expressing their thanks to local people who have supported their businesses.
The President and CEO of the Phu Hoang Service and Transportation Joint Stock Company (Tien Sa Taxis Company), Mr Le Vinh Quang, is a typical example of a generous donor.

Since its operations began 4 years ago, his company has donated a total of 4 billion VND to charitable activities in the city. The company has increased its chartered capital from an initial 3 billion VND to 29 billion VND in 2013. As of June this year it had 300 taxis operating, 2.6 million passengers, and had given 35,000 tours to its customers.
Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Central Regional Thach Ban Company, Mr Nguyen Hong Son, is another example. He became involved in local charity work through his membership of the city’s Entrepreneurs Association.
Chairman Son said that contributions from every member of the Association would have a positive effect on the whole community, as well as encourage local residents to join efforts to help those who are living in difficult circumstances and need a helping hand.
