Local storm victims receive more support
On Wednesday afternoon, on behalf of the Laos Consulate in Da Nang, Consul General Phommaseng Khamsene donated 20 million VND to the Da Nang Department of Foreign Affairs to help local storm victims.
The Laotian diplomat expressed his sympathy to the city authorities about the damage caused by the recent storm. He hoped that local residents would soon resume their normal lives and business production thanks to the great efforts of the city’s authorities.

On the same day, the Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province Association for Victims of Agent Orange (AO) visited 100 local AO victims and their families who had been affected by the recent storm, and presented gifts totalling over 22 million VND to them. Each gift consisted of 10kg of rice and 2 cartons of instant noodles. In addition, the city’s Women’s Union gave a total of 6 million VND and 400 boxes of milk to some of the local AO victims. The cash and material donations have been given by local generous donors.
Since the storm hit, the Da Nang Association for Victims of AO has raised over 100 million VND from local organisations and individuals to help AO victims living in the hardest-hit areas.
