During his meeting on Monday with the Da Nang People's Committee Chairman, Mr Van Huu Chien, the Deputy Minister of Transport, Mr Le Dinh Tho, expressed his sympathy to the city authorities about the damage caused by the recent storm.  On behalf of his ministry, the visiting guest donated 200 million VND to help the city to overcome the consequences of the storm.

A programme entitled “Providing Nutritional Support and Sharing Love” was launched in the city on the same day to give milk products to children in storm-affected areas.  A total of 1,400 cartons of milk, worth over 600 million VND, were given to children from 34 local pre-schools and primary schools which had been badly affected by the recent storm.

On 20 and 21 October, the Da Nang Tourism Association visited and gave gifts to 250 badly affected families in Quang Binh Province’s Quang Trach and Le Thuy districts.

In addition, the Association presented 2,000 pairs of sandals, 100 sets of clothes and 50 sweaters to the SOS Children's Village in this province.

These gifts, valued at 200 million VND in total, have been paid for by members of the city’s association.
