Rail and air services back to normal after storm
During the powerful Storm Nari, no trains were cancelled but some were delayed. Three trains were halted temporarily in Quang Ngai Province on Tuesday because part of the rail track in Da Nang had been damaged by the storm.
At noon on Tuesday, 2 trains arrived at the city’s railway station, and by 1.30pm all the north-south rail services were operating normally again. A total of 11 trains are scheduled to pass through Da Nang today, Wednesday.
About 1,000 passengers using southbound coach services were delayed at the Da Nang coach station on Tuesday morning due to flooding in Quang Nam Province. The services departing from the city to the northern provinces, however, were operating normally.
At the city’s international airport, all flights in and out were cancelled on Monday and Tuesday. Vietnam Airlines in particular cancelled 12 flights.
