The Da Nang Road Bridge Management Company said that, as of yesterday afternoon, the basic repair of the 142m damaged railings along the embankment near the Rong (Dragon) Bridge has been completed after 4 days.

Today, 22 October, the repaired railings are being painted, whilst 6 broken street lights along the railings are being reinstalled.  The railings and broken lights had been damaged by a collision between the Cat Tien tourist boat and the embankment during the recent storm.

At a meeting yesterday afternoon with the boat’s owner, the city’s Department of Transport suggested that an administrative fine should be imposed by the local authorities.  The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will help local sunken tourist boats to overcome their difficulties, and continue to promote the development of local river tours.
