Vietnam Railways said that by 2 October most of the trains between Ha Noi and Da Nang had begun to operate normally again. However, railway tracks between Vinh City and Thanh Hoa Province are still flooded, and therefore buses are being used to transfer passengers between Vinh City and Thanh Hoa Province and to move passengers stranded on trains in the 2 localities.
As a result, anyone travelling from Da Nang to Ha Noi will first go by train to Vinh City, then by bus to Thanh Hoa railway station, and finally from Thanh Hoa to Ha Noi by train again.
