22-year-old Nguyen Hai Long from the Da Nang College of Technology has been recommended for an honour and reward for his bravery.  He successfully caught an armed robber on Tran Cao Van Street by the Thanh Khe District Police Department in Da Nang.

On his way home at 5pm on 14 October, Long heard somebody shouting for help.  He then saw a youngster running away from a phone card store at 268 Tran Cao Van Street.  The man had snatched a mobile phone from the store’s owner, beat her repeatedly in the head with the hammer, and left her unconscious.

Long chased after the robber and, with the assistance of local residents, he handed over the offender to the police.
