The new traffic light system at the western end of the Rong (Dragon) Bridge began operating on a trial basis from Tuesday.

The 2-phase traffic light system was installed to halve the volume of vehicles and to reduce traffic congestion.

The timing of the lights is set to give longer periods on green for traffic along the Nguyen Van Linh Street-Dragon Bridge route to allow smooth flow for road users.

Some adjustments will be made to the timing of lights if necessary after the trial period ends.
