The Da Nang Overseas Vietnamese Liaison Association recently held its 3^rd congress for the 2013 - 2018 term in the city.

Participants discussed effective solutions to improve the operation of the Association in the future.  The focus will be on consolidating the Association’s organisational structure, increasing its number of members, and upholding the solidarity among overseas Vietnamese communities in the process of national construction and defence.

Special attention will also be paid to setting up chapters of the Association in districts across the city where a large number of families and relatives of overseas Vietnamese are living, and to establishing an overseas Vietnamese business club.

In addition, the Association will work closely with local relevant agencies to appeal for more overseas Vietnamese businesses to invest in such aspects as science and technology, education, healthcare and culture, and encourage them to get involved in charitable activities in the city.

At present, around 18,000 overseas Vietnamese are from Da Nang.  They have so far provided a total of 1,800 billion VND for 120 projects in the city.
