Da Nang’s Dong A University has recently opened a “Books and Action” club for its teaching staff members and students.

The launch of the city’s first-ever such club was in response to the “Cross-country Run” being undertaken by Cao Duc Thai from Ha Noi.  His run began in Ha Noi and will end in Ho Chi Minh City.  The purpose is to promote a culture of reading and the spirit of action among young people nationwide.

To mark the occasion, Thai presented nearly 400 books to the club and met with the university’s students.

To date, more than 200 books have also been given to the club by donors from inside and outside the city.  In addition, the club has received 120,000 e-books, worth 2 billion VND in total, from Viet Nam’s Alezaa E-Book Company.

The opening of this club will give the university’s students an opportunity to read books at their university every Saturday.  They can also discuss the best reading methods, as well as select and comment on their favourite books.
