This year, the Haematology and Blood Transfusion Department of the Da Nang General Hospital has more blood stocks for use in emergencies during the upcoming Tet festival as compared with previous years.

At the present moment, as many as 2,500 units of blood are in store.  Of these, 479 units are blood type A, 565 units are type B, 1,335 units are type O, and 81 units are type AB.

The department collected many of the units during a blood donation campaign co-organised by the department and the local Red Cross Association on 17 and 19 of this month.

Apart from the blood units in storage, there are a number of blood donation groups, with a total of around 350 members, who are willing to give their blood any time if the hospital is in need.
