Despite the economic difficulties, Da Nang’s hospitals have received an abundance of Tet gifts for poor patients from numerous generous organisations and individuals.

Thanks to this, local patients, especially cancer patients, or those with kidney diseases and receiving dialysis, will have the opportunity to enjoy a joyful and warm Tet Festival.

The Deputy Director of the Maternity and Paediatrics Hospital, Dr Nguyen Son, said that apart from charitable organisations and businesses, many local families and individuals have also donated Tet gifts for his hospital’s patients.

The Cancer Hospital has already prepared Tet gifts for its patients and their relatives.  It is expected that as many as 150 poor cancer patients who are being treated at the hospital will celebrate Tet Festival there.

It is difficult to estimate how many gifts have been distributed to local poor patients across the city in these days leading up to Tet.  The main reason is that many local groups, families and individuals distribute gifts to poor patients without giving their names.  The donated gifts, valued at between 300,000 and several million VND each, will help to bring a warm and joyful festival to the poor patients.
