A musical performance entitled “Warm Spring” is being held in Da Nang on 21 and 22 January.  Co-organised by the Vietnam Brewery Limited (VBL) and the municipal Association of Charity and Children’s Rights Protection, the event aims to help local poor families to enjoy a happy Tet Festival.  Representatives of the organisers gave gifts, worth 500,000 VND each, to poor families in the districts of Thanh Khe and Lien Chieu.

The Hai Chau District authorities recently spent nearly 350 million VND to grant Tet allowances to social policy beneficiaries in difficult circumstances.  Local agencies and businesses were asked for donations to give as Tet gifts to 1,200 needy, disabled and disadvantaged residents.

The Hoa Vang District authorities gave Tet gifts to 100 Kinh ethnic social policy families and 352 other Co Tu households in the communes of Hoa Bac and Hoa Phu.  In addition, local agencies and businesses have so far this year given gifts, valued at between 150,000 VND and 1 million VND each, to about 3,000 poor people in the district.

As for Lien Chieu District, local businesses have already donated gifts, worth between 400,000 VND and 500,000 VND each, to 3,100 needy people.  The district authorities have also spent nearly 700 million VND to give financial aid to poor and social policy families, disadvantaged children, and those who are eligible for social sponsorship.

Cam Le District’s authorities have granted Tet allowances, worth 500,000 VND each, to 270 social policy families, Agent Orange victims, blind residents, war veterans, and poor ex-youth volunteers.  Tet gifts, worth 300,000 VND each, have been given to 100 poor single women, whilst 120 social policy beneficiaries in Hoa Vang District’s Dien Tien Commune also enjoyed this special favour.
