New shelter opens for Agent Orange victims
Last Friday, the Da Nang Association of Agent Orange (AO) Victims celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Viet Nam Association of AO Victims. To mark the occasion, the Association inaugurated its Shelter No1 for local AO victims and disadvantaged children in Thanh Khe District’s Thanh Khe Tay Ward.
The 400 m2 shelter was built at a cost of over 3.9 billion VND, funded by the Bank for Investment and Development of Viet Nam (BIDV). It is expecting to receive between 80 and 100 AO and disabled children from the districts of Lien Chieu, Hai Chau and Thanh Khe.

Addressing the event, the municipal People’s Committee (PC) Vice Chairman, Mr Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, thanked all the donors for their generous help in improving the care of local AO affected children.
Also at the event, 10 units and 17 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit from the municipal PC in recognition of their outstanding achievements in giving care and support for local AO/ dioxin victims, as well as appealing for donations for them.
