At a meeting with Da Nang’s media agencies on Thursday, the BK Engineering and Construction Company presented causes and solutions for the damaged surface of the Thuan Phuoc Suspension Bridge.

According to the company, the four-lane bridge’s road surface has been deteriorating badly.  The main reasons are the movement of overweight trucks, the very high level of thermal radiation, short-comings relating to the designs and application of the newest-ever technologies and materials, and the reduction of heat-loss steel pipes by 655m. 

To solve these problems, the company has shaved off the bridge’s convex surfaces in order to maintain its flatness and hopefully ensure a smoother surface for bridge users.
