The Da Nang authorities recently decided to spend around 20 billion VND to give gifts and grant allowances to local social and charitable organisations, along with social beneficiaries, to help them enjoy a happy Tet.

In detail, 26 of the city’s social and charitable organisations will each receive 1.5 million VND in cash, along with materials valued at 500,000 VND.

In addition, very poor families with members who are incapable of working will be given allowances valued at 500,000 VND each, whilst other social beneficiaries as defined by the city's regulations will receive 250,000 VND each.

Furthermore, those living in the city’s social support centres, along with prisoners at the Hoa Son Detention Centre, will each be given Tet gifts valued at 100,000 VND.

The distribution is expected to be completed by 25 January.
