Vice President presents gifts to juvenile offenders and poor pupils
A musical performance entitled “Spring for You” took place on Tuesday afternoon at Reform School No 3 in Da Nang’s Hoa Vang District.
The event was co-organised by Viet Nam’s Fund for Sponsoring Children, and the General Department of Criminal Enforcement Police and Justice Assistance under the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security. In attendance was the Vietnamese Vice President, Mrs Nguyen Thi Doan, hundreds of juvenile offenders from the Reform School, and outstanding poor pupils from the Ong Ich Duong Junior High School in Hoa Phu Commune.

Speaking at the event, Vice President Doan praised 50 pupils from the 2 schools for their outstanding achievements in the last academic year, and their schools’ emulation campaigns. She also took the opportunity to encourage the pupils to exert every effort to become useful citizens.
On behalf of the Fund for Sponsoring Children, she presented each of them with 500,000 VND, and donated 50 million VND to the Reform School to provide meals for its pupils during the Tet festival.
