Established in 1993, the Da Nang Village of Hope has to date brought up 530 orphaned and deaf children, who were in extremely difficult circumstances, from the Da Nang and Quang Nam Province areas.  Currently, there are 120 children aged between 6 and 18 living and studying in the village’s 14 families, which include Son Ca, Hoa Mi, and Vanh Khuyen.  Each family is under the management and supervision of a mother and an emulation board.

The Deputy Director of the village, Mr Nguyen Viet Thanh, said that the village gave the disadvantaged children the opportunity to study and fully develop their characters to become useful citizens in the future.

Several former residents have become successful businesspeople for multinational corporations or are now living overseas.  All express their deep gratitude to the village’s staff for their care which helped them to confidently integrate into the community.  They often spend their free time visiting the village where they were brought up.
