South Korea’s Lotus Village has recently donated 25,000 USD to the Da Nang General Hospital to partly fund the surgery for 25 children with congenital heart disease. The children are from Dien Ban, Dai Loc and Duy Xuyen districts in Quang Nam Province.
After taking part in a screening programme at the hospital’s Surgery and Cardiovascular Interventions Ward, these children were found to be suffering from such congenital heart defects as open-heart valve, ductus arteriosus, and heart failure.
The total cost of the surgery for all these children is estimated at around 47,000 USD. The remaining funding will come from health insurance funds and charitable organisations in Quang Nam Province.
