Da Nang leads in provincial-level PAR INDEX 2012
The Ministry of Home Affairs recently announced the results of the Public Administration Reform Index 2012 (PAR INDEX 2012) at ministerial and provincial level.
The index is an important tool for ministries and localities to assess their strengths and weaknesses in order to introduce timely measures to improve administration reforms. The ministerial-level index covers 31 criteria and 89 sub-criteria whilst the provincial-level index covers 34 criteria and 104 sub-criteria.

The PAR INDEX 2012 results of ministries and localities nationwide were classified into 4 major assessment groups which reflect their performances in public administration reforms. They were good, fair, medium, and poor performing groups.
Amongst the 19 provinces and cities nationwide recording "good" performances, Da Nang took the lead with a score of 87.14%.
Meanwhile, 33 other provinces and cities saw "fair" results of between 70% and 80%. Five other localities were listed in the "medium" performing group whilst the other 6 were assessed as "poor".
As for the ministry-level index results, the Ministry of Justice topped the "good" group, followed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, and the Ministry of Transport.
Seven other ministries were assessed as "fair", 4 were "medium", and 4 were graded "poor".
