On Sunday morning, the Liaison Committee of Da Nang Fellow Countrymen in Ha Noi held a get-together for all fellow countrymen studying, working and living in the capital.

On behalf of the city leaders, the municipal People’s Committee Chairman, Mr Van Huu Chien, affirmed that local significant achievements in recent years could be attributed to the high level of consensus among the local authorities and the people, as well as the active support from fellow countrymen both at home and abroad.  

Also at the meeting, Chairman Chien presented gifts to fellow countrymen aged between 75 and 90 for their longevity.

Ha Noi is now home to about 2,000 people originating from Da Nang, and around 20 businesses which are being run by some of them.  

Over recent years, the fellow countrymen have been actively involved in the city’s charitable and social welfare activities, especially to help poor people and the victims of storms and floods to overcome their difficulties.
