The C Hospital opens its new 11-storey multifunctional building
Last Saturday, Da Nang’s C Hospital held a ceremony to mark the Vietnamese Physicians’ Day (which is on 27 February) and to receive a Second-class Independence Order. In attendance at the event were the Deputy Prime Minister, Mr Nguyen Xuan Phuc, the Deputy Secretary of the city’s Party Committee, Mr Vo Cong Tri, and the Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee, Mr Nguyen Xuan Anh.
To mark this occasion, the hospital opened its new 11-storey multifunctional building. Covering an area of 22,400m2 , the building has 500 beds and 40 medical wards. There are 600 doctors, nurses and medical workers in total, over 40% of whom have attended post-graduate courses. The hospital provides medical examinations and treatment to about 300,000 out-patients and 15,000 in-patients each year. Many advanced medical techniques have been successfully used in treatment. They include pulmonary artery and percutaneous coronary intervention, plasmapheresis, renal ultrafiltration, and endoscopic spine and brain surgery.
Deputy Prime Minister Phuc congratulated the hospital’s staff for the upcoming day. He also spoke highly of their great efforts in providing medical examinations and treatment to their patients over the past years. The honourable guest remarked that the C Hospital is listed as a first-class central hospital which is under the management of the Vietnamese Ministry of Health. The hospital is responsible for caring and providing treatment for Party and government high and medium-ranking officials along with others who are living in the city and elsewhere in the central region and Highlands. During its development process, the hospital has fulfilled its assigned tasks well, and has done its utmost to become the leading medical establishment in the region.

Mr Phuc also took the opportunity to encourage the staff to fight against the negative impacts of issues relating to healthcare services as well as to improve their medical ethics and professional skills. In addition, they were urged to strictly follow Uncle Ho’s teaching as “Physicians are Like Benevolent Mothers”.
Also at the event, the hospital’s Trade Union was awarded a Third-class Labour Medal, and three of the hospital’s doctors were honoured with the title of Meritorious Physician. Two groups and one individual were given Certificates of Merit from the Vietnamese Prime Minister whilst 47 other individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Ministry of Health.
