Young people eager to join the military

Last Saturday morning, 145 young people from Da Nang’s Hai Chau District, along with 100 others from Lien Chieu District and 155 from Hoa Vang District, left their homes for the first stage of the country’s military service programme this year.

According to the city’s Military Headquarters, most of the new recruits are aged from 18 to 25 and are all in good health.  The number of Party members accounts for 2.59 % of the participants, whilst 7.8 % are local government employees, and 13.2 % are graduates from local universities, colleges and pre-intermediate schools.

The Commander of Military Zone 5, Lieutenant-General Le Chiem, along with the Vice Chairpersons of the municipal People’s Committee, Mr Vo Duy Khuong, Mr Nguyen Xuan Anh and Mr Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, presented flowers to the new recruits at the local departure points.
