A blaze broke out at around 11.00am on Saturday in an apartment building in the Nguyen Tri Phuong No 4 Residential Area on Luong Nhu Hoc Street, Hai Chau District. 

Witnesses said that members of dozens of families living in the building hastily rushed down the stairs after smoke was found billowing from the 2^nd and the 3^rd floors of the building.

Soon after, 2 fire engines arrived at the scene and the blaze was completely extinguished within 15 minutes thanks to the great efforts of the firefighters.  A set of tables and chairs belonging to one household was totally destroyed.

The cause of the incident is now under investigation.
