Continuing campaign to protect red-shanked douc langurs
Published: March 25, 2014
More than 100 posters have been placed at tourist locations and hotels across the city to advertise a campaign to protect the red-shanked douc langurs on Son Tra Peninsula. In addition, 25,000 leaflets have been distributed which contain information and images about this rare animal, as well as advice about what not to do when visiting the peninsula.
The publicity has been jointly implemented by the GreenViet Biodiversity Conservation Centre and the Da Nang Young Officials Club. The aim is to encourage local residents and visitors to become involved in protecting this rare animal.
The Son Tra Peninsula welcomes around 500,000 visitors every year.
