Increased security measures at airport
Following instructions from the Vietnamese Minister of Transport Dinh La Thang, the Da Nang International Airport has introduced stronger measures to ensure aviation security at the first level of a three-tiered security alert system.
Specifically, a focus will be on more carefully checking air passengers and screening their checked-in luggage. Special attention has also been given to increasing the monitoring of the airport’s public areas, checking the in-flight meal services for air passengers, and keeping a close eye on the aircraft parking areas. The airport has made sure that surveillance cameras closely monitor everything, and other security procedures have been implemented.
According to the airport’s Aviation Security Centre, an increased number of security staff has been assigned to areas such as arrivals and departures and the airport entrances.
The Da Nang International Airport is now one of the largest in Viet Nam. It handles 4.5 million air passengers each year, and receives an average of 1,500 from between 150 and 200 flights each day.
