On Monday afternoon, the Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman, Mr Nguyen Xuan Anh, along with representatives from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) discussed the Q-Health project.

Funded by the Korean Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF), the project aims to improve the efficient usage of medical support equipment at the Da Nang General Hospital, and enhance the management capacity of the hospital’s doctors and nurses.  The hospital’s wards of Nuclear Medicine and Oncology will be the beneficiaries of this project.

At a recent meeting with KOICA’s representatives, leaders of the Da Nang General Hospital pointed out the shortcomings in their diagnosis and treatment of cancer.  They also expressed their hope that KOICA would give some short-term training courses on how to use medical equipment effectively, and on increasing management capacity for the hospital’s staff members.

The Deputy Head of the representative office of KOICA in Viet Nam, Mr Yi Jong Su, promised to consider the hospital’s request for support of their cancer treatment work.
