A total of 41 organisations and individuals were honoured at the city’s Trung Vuong Theatre on Wednesday in recognition of their significant contributions to the development of Da Nang’s tourism sector in 2013.  The awards ceremony, the first of its kind in the city, was organised by the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The event was in response to the city's “Year for Business 2014” programme, and its aim was to encourage local tourism businesses to make even greater contributions to the local tourism sector this year.

Certificates of Merit from the municipal People’s Committee were awarded to 15 businesses and individuals.  Another 26 groups and individuals received Certificates of Merit from the department. 

The honourees were required to abide by the State regulations, earn high revenues, and make high tax contributions to the city’s budget.  In addition, they had created many unique tourism products, and helped to bring more both domestic and foreign visitors to the city.
