According to the Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade, the city saved 21,500 kWh of electricity during Earth Hour 2014, which took place between 8.30 pm and 9.30 pm on 29 March.

This positive result was attributed to the great efforts of local news agencies in publicising the event widely and effectively.  Ahead of the event, the Da Nang Electricity Company had sent 172,063 SMS messages to local residents, businesses and organisations to encourage them to participate in the event.  Most notably, this year’s event was also widely publicised among university students and school pupils across the city.
