At 7.35am on Sunday, fishing boat DNa 90249TS was fishing at sea about 70 nautical miles north-east of the Da Nang coast when it suffered a rudder breakdown.  The boat, with its 9-man crew, was adrift at sea. 

After receiving their SOS message, the Da Nang Coastal Information Station asked nearby local and regional fishing vessels to help.

By 12.30pm, fishing boat DNa 90463 owned by Nguyen Than from Son Tra District had rescued the boat and it was towed into the Tho Quang fishing wharf the following day.
