Doctors save life of foreign visitor
Doctors at the Da Nang General Hospital recently saved the life of 45-year-old Mr C McKervie from Australia. Mr McKervie works in Ho Chi Minh City and he was admitted to the hospital whilst on a visit to Da Nang.
The patient was in a serious condition with shortness of breath, and cyanosis of the lips and the upper part of four extremities. According to his previous medical records, he has had a deep vein thrombosis of a lower extremity, acute right ventricular failure, pulmonary arterial hypertension, and high levels of D-dimer. The hospital’s doctors said that the man had been diagnosed with an acute pulmonary embolism.
After a week of treatment from the hospital’s doctors, Mr McKervie no longer suffers from shortness of breath, and his results of cardiovascular tests are now normal. In addition, there is only a small thrombosis in the left pulmonary artery. He has now been discharged from hospital but doctors have recommended that he takes anticoagulants.
