More support given to Vietnamese fishermen, Marine Police and Fisheries Surveillance forces
Da Nang’s 29 March Textiles and Garments Company recently launched a programme entitled “For Viet Nam’s Sea and Islands” in response to the “Action Month for Workers 2014” campaign which has been launched by the Viet Nam General Confederation of Labour.
Under the programme, nearly 200 million VND has been raised from the company’s staff for Vietnamese fishermen, Marine Police and Fisheries Surveillance forces.
Amongst the recipients, the Vietnamese Marine Police and Fisheries Surveillance forces each received 50 million VND and 1,000 small towels which are printed with an image of a map of Viet Nam and the slogan “For Viet Nam’s Sea and Islands”. In addition, fishermen from each locality in Da Nang, and the provinces of Quang Nam and Quang Ngai, will receive 1,000 small towels. In addition, 20 million VND and 20 small towels were given to the owner of Da Nang’s fishing boat DNa 90152 which sank after an aggressive attack by a Chinese ship on Monday.
The Head of the Central region branch of the (Lao Dong) Labour Newspaper, Mr Nguyen Trung Hieu, also gave 2 billion VND from his newspaper’s Golden Heart Fund to the boat’s owner to help her to buy a new boat. The new boat will make offshore fishing trips to Viet Nam’s territorial waters, which will help to safeguard the country’s sea and islands.
