Donations sought for 29 March Park upgrade
On Wednesday, a meeting took place to discuss ways to appeal for donations from domestic and foreign individuals and organisations to upgrade the 29 March Park in Da Nang’s Thanh Khe District. The meeting was chaired by the Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee, Mr Van Huu Chien.
Addressing the event, Chairman Chien stressed the need to issue the most preferential policies to attract as much investment as possible into the upgrade of the park. He added that the emphasis will be on ensuring that the park will serve as the lungs of the city and bring benefits to local residents. Effective measures will be taken to make the park the most attractive in the city, with unique characteristics as well as a green, clean and beautiful environment.

According to plans made by the city’s Construction and Planning Institute, the park will cover 106,301m2 of water and 81,780m2 of land. The plan to build a zoological garden and restaurants in the park will be cancelled. Instead, there will be a place for capturing photos to save as memories, offices for the park’s employees, rest areas for visitors to the park, drinking and indoor entertainment areas, and a floating stage on the park’s lake.
To date, the Bao Phuoc company has been the only one to register a bid to upgrade the park, worth 174 billion VND. The company was the developer of the Fusion Suites Danang Beach project.
The local authorities have agreed to allow the construction of varied entertainment areas to attract more local residents and visitors to the park. In addition, 2 recently cleared land lots on the eastern side of the park, totalling 490m2, will be added to the park. The priority will be to choose large businesses which have extensive experience of constructing amusement areas to be involved in the upgrade.
