1,206 units of blood collected
As part of the “Red Journey - Connecting Vietnamese Bloodlines” national programme, a blood donation campaign entitled “Ngay Hoi Trai Tim Song Han” (The Festive Day of the Heart of the Han River) took place in Da Nang on 18 and 19 July. The event was co-organised by the National Institute of Haematology and Blood Transfusion, along with the steering committees for voluntary blood donations at national and municipal levels.
On 18 July, a total of over 1,000 trade union members of the city’s organisations and agencies, along with members of local voluntary clubs and employees of businesses, donated a total of 787 units of blood at the Labour Culture House.
On 19 July, another 419 units of blood were collected at the city’s General Hospital. The donors were members of district-level Red Cross associations and employees of local organisations and businesses.
Over recent years, Da Nang has had the highest number of blood donors in Viet Nam.
