On Thursday morning, the Da Nang Newspaper and the Hoa Chau Commune People’s Committee in Hoa Vang District held a ceremony to officially accept responsibility for taking care of Vietnamese Heroic Mother Dang Thi Hoi for the rest of her life.  Mrs Hoi’s husband and son laid down their lives for the nation in the resistance war against the USA.

At the event, the newspaper’s Editor-in-Chief, Mr Mai Duc Loc, said that his newspaper’s staff are willing to join with the city’s authorities and its residents to improve the spiritual and material lives of those whose family members sacrificed their lives for the nation’s independence and freedom.  This action expressed the national traditions of “when drinking water, remember its source” and “when eating fruits, think of the person who planted the tree”.

In addition to Mrs Hoi, the newspaper also has the responsibility of helping Heroic Mother Vo Thi Lien who is living in Quang Nam Province’s Dai Loc District.
