Fires in Nam Hai Van special use forest
On Sunday, 2 large fires occurred in the Nam Hai Van special use forest in Da Nang’s Lien Chieu District.
The first blaze broke out at 10.30am in sub-region 16 of the forest. Thanks to the great efforts of the firefighters, the fire was completely extinguished by 5pm on the same day, but 1ha of special-use forest and vegetation was destroyed. The illegal burning of coal near the forest is thought to have caused the incident.
