There has recently been a dramatic increase in the number of children admitted to hospitals in Da Nang for the treatment of respiratory illnesses and viral fevers.

On Wednesday morning, the city’s Maternity and Paediatrics Hospital was crowded with hundreds of patients.  Of these, 90% were children who were suffering from fevers and coughs due to the recent continuous hot weather and the erratic weather change. 

Over recent days, a total of 400 children have been seen each day, and 180 of these have been treated as inpatients.
