According to the Da Nang Power Company, periodic power cuts will be required in some areas of the city between 7 and 12 August to allow the replacement of a 110kV busbar system and equipment at the city’s 500kV transformer station.  The work is part of the “Increasing Capacity of the 220kV Transformer at the Da Nang 500kV Transformer Station” project.  The purpose is to help to improve the city's power supply in 2014, and in the years ahead.    

The schedule of power cuts is being widely publicised in the mass media, including the Da Nang Newspaper, the Cong An (Police) Newspaper, Da Nang Radio and Television (DRT), the city's branch of the Viet Nam Television Station (VTV), and on the power company’s website http://dnp.com.vn.
