Schedule of water supply cuts

The Da Nang Water Supply Company (DAWACO) reported on Thursday that it has been sourcing water from the An Trach Dam instead of from the Red Bridge River, which has been suffering from increasing salinity of late.  However, the water level in the An Trach Dam is now low, between 1.8m and 2m, and as a result the city is facing a severe shortage of water.

To try to reduce water consumption, DAWACO has announced a schedule of water supply cuts for parts of the city.  Between 9.00am and 3.00pm each day, water supplies will be maintained in the Son Tra and Ngu Hanh Son districts, whilst Hai Chau and Thanh Khe districts will have little or no water.  The schedule will then be reversed from 3.00pm to 9.00am the next day for these areas.  There will be no water supply in some of the highest areas of Lien Chieu, Cam Le and Hoa Vang districts.
